Batman Failsafe was a comic book release planned by DC Comics to catalogues Batman's greatest threat: himself. We set out to design a title animation that captured the unique color

palette of the series as well as the epic scale of the new title. With the introduction of this new title, we elevated the dramatic panels to new heights by fully realizing them through

animation. The end result was a widely viewed trailer for this new series, told in complete by the intricately animated panels we created.

Together with the minds at DC we brainstormed an approach that would pay homage to Batman 1989's iconic opening sequence. The idea was to have a dramatic camera weaving

through the labyrinth of detailed textures and colors, only for it to be revealed that the labyrinth is the main title up close. The macro scale of this animation allowed me to focus on

extreme detail and texturing, while incorporating unique cinematography to intrigue the viewer. The panel animations were done through a process of 2D/3D animation, with

some techniques involving 3D modelling and projection mapping to accentuate panel features and depth.
